  • Year: 2024
  • Medium: Oil Paint
  • Size: 11”x14”

This piece represents the culmination of my years training in oil paints, combined with my passion for architecture and eye for the small details. Ever since I began painting in oil, I have carried a deep love for the medium, as it lends well to my skills of color and brush work. When I look at this piece, I am transported to the waves crashing against a coastal Greek city, watching sunlight bounce off the water and bright red roofs.

  • Medium: Pen and Pencil, Chipboard and Metal Sheets

This project was an imaginative pavilion for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the base inspired by the patchwork of a soccer ball and roof inspired by the waves in Puget Sound.

Over the summer, I attended Miller Hull’s Open Studio Summer Intensive, a week-long program where students learn more about architecture through design exercises and projects. I collaborated with my partner, Maddie Sweeney, to create this project, a pavilion called The Wave. The concept was a team effort, but the included drawings and models are ones I crafted.

The Sweet Life

  • Year: 2024
  • Medium: Oil Paint
  • Size: 11”x14”

This piece is a master study of one of Wayne Thiebaud’s most famous paintings, titled Confections. I was inspired to replicate this piece from Thiebaud because of its delicate, simple, and decadent representation of these desserts. Painting the intricate reflections on the glass containers tested my technical brush skill in oil paints.

  • Size: 18”x24”

This oil piece is a master study of a cityscape in the Akira film, demonstrating my understanding of depth, color, and architecture. Through the course of several months, I developed each building’s unique coloring and lighting, bringing the piece to life.

  • Year: 2024
  • Medium: Wood, Chipboard, & Paint
  • Size: 2’x4’

This 1:220 scale model represents the buildings in a small shopping center, Gilman Village. I spent a month researching the site and creating a model of each building in the village, capturing each one’s unique structure and exterior façade. Placing them on a large wood board, painting the buildings, and adding foliage all contributed to the authenticity and completed look of the model.

Dual Glow Portrait

  • Year: 2022
  • Medium: Gouache Paint
  • Size: 10.5”x8.5”

Portraits are challenging yet rewarding. This piece shows my craftsmanship for portraits and displays my brushwork in gouache paints, which have properties similar to watercolor and oils. Each side of her face is lit and painted differently to show stark contrast.
